For the classic Arabian Nights story ALADDIN AND THE MAGIC LAMP we recreated authentic arabian costume as can be seen in the miniature art of the region, using original patterns and very carfully chosen fabric designs. As it is a play for children, we wanted to evoke a very positive, rich and entertaining image of this culture as a first impression, especially in a time when it is mostly associated with political crisis and terrorism. Furthermore we also used an only recently developped light emitting fabric on the ghost's costume, thrilling stuff.
